My Bucket List

Here it comes...

THE LIST

That was it, the list.

Burial Instructions

No, this is not a veiled suicide note. People are allowed to think about their inevitable and unpredictable death without it being a cry for help.

If my death should arrive sooner than expected (hopefully I have a good handful of decades left), and a curious family member should happen upon this website, I request only that my remains be buried out west, preferably in Wyoming, preferably within view of my favorite mountain range in all the world, the Wind River Range; otherwise, Cheyenne will do just fine ("Anyone can love a mountain; it takes a soul to love the prairie."), or at worst Colorado or Montana or even western Nebraska. I may be cremated, but my ashes are not to be scattered. If I am not to be cremated, bury me in the cheapest box you can find. The body is the thing that will be resurrected, not the wood. If at all possible, I would prefer an Anglican burial service according to the 2019 Book of Common Prayer. Please don't call it a "celebration of life" or some other hippie-dippie nonsense; there will be time enough for you and I to celebrate on the other side, if all is well for both of our souls.

If this message has any relevance any time soon, it is likely that my wife has survived me. If she wishes to return to her home country, please help her to do so if you are able, and (if I am to be cremated) allow her to keep my remains with her for the foreseeable future, to be transported back to Wyoming or thereabouts sometime later if possible. (If my remains get stuck in Bohol, I won't be mad, I promise. I quite like it there, and I should hope that I am unlikely to be fretting over the precise state of my remains where I am going.) My wife, of course, has last say in all decisions regarding my remains.
