What I've Been Readingv0.1.4
Page plans:
- Record of notable books I have read and what I thought of/learned from them
- Continuously updated "blog" of what I am currently reading, to add to what I have already read
- A section containing a list of books I would like to read in the future, which I might mark off as I go
To that end, it would make the most sense to start with the easiest tasks first and work my way up to more heavy tasks.
- Create two lists, one for books I've already read that I would like to include on this page, another for books I would like to read and include in the future
- Begin updating the page with whatever I am currently reading (most likely Paralandra by C. S. Lewis)
- As I find the time, go back and fill in all the books I've read way-back-whenever
Books I have read and would like to include on this page in the future
- Out of the Silent Planet by C. S. Lewis
- Mere Christianity by C. S. Lewis
- Toward the Setting Sun by Brian Hicks
- Cripple Creek Days by Mabel Barbee Lee
- The Oregon Trail by Francis Parkman
- Walk Softly, This is God's Country by Elinor R. Markley and Beatrice Crofts
- The Passing of the Frontier by Emerson Hough
- It Happened on the Oregon Trail by Tricia Martineau Wagner
- Barbed Wire: The Fence That Changed the West by Joanne S. Liu
- The Chronicles of Narnia by C. S. Lewis (especially Prince Caspian)
That should give you a pretty good idea of what kind of books I'm into and therefor what kind of books you can expect to see featured on this webpage in the future, although I may branch out a bit here and there.
Books of Interest
This section will pertain to books that aren't of the read-through-and-you're-done sort: reference books, guidebooks, textbooks, etc. that I find interesting or significant, such as:
- The New York Public Library Desk Reference (1989)
- A History of US by Joy Hakim
- The Oregon Trail Revisited by Gregory M. Franzwa
- The Best-Loved Poems of the American People selected by Hazel Freeman
- The American Tradition in Literature: Shorter Edition edited by Sculley Bradley, Richmond Croom Beatty, and E. Hudson Long
Besides all that, I shall maybe have to do something about making categories (history, primary source, religious, etc) in the future, and who knows what formatting this mess will need once it really starts to pile up with content. Content will include book reviews, notes taken while reading, showing off any special copies I own, etc.
Hey, since you've made it this far, look to the right for my to-read list!
